Cylinder Design
Thick wall Plane Strain Composite Cylinder Design
Assumptions
- Fibers are uniformly distributed throughout the matrix.
- Perfect bonding between fibers and matrix.
- Matrix is free of voids.
- Applied loads are either parallel or normal to the fiber direction.
- Lamina is initially in a stress-free state (no residual stresses).
- Fiber and matrix behave as linearly elastic materials.
Model Inputs
- Fiber Material (via SMART Tag dropdown selection)
- Matrix Material (via SMART Tag dropdown selection)
- Fiber volume fraction (value element 0-100%)
Model Outputs
Effective Properties of Composite lamina including E1, E2, v12, G12. Results can be saved as new SMARTree material and used in subsequent models such as 2D laminate or composite cylinder. No additional formatting required.
